Main Environmental Characteristics:

  • Organized the "Help US GO Green!" programme and provided rewards to staff for their contributions of environmental initiatives.
  • Installed sensors to monitor the lighting levels to determine if there is more than sufficient light. If so the lighting levels can be adjusted.
  • Used composting machines to treat food waste.
  • Installed "IonAir" control system to monitor and improve the indoor air quality of the hotel.
  • Used variable speed pumping for secondary chilled water recycling system.
  • Operated the steam boilers in two pressure level modes to suit the operation needs of laundry operation (higher pressure) and kitchen operation (lower pressure).

Continuous Improvement Items:

  • The hotel has established a record system for waste generation;
  • The hotel has participated in ¨Moon Cake Boxes Recycling Campaign〃 and ¨Old Clothes Recycling Campaign〃 to encourage recycling of moon cake boxes and old clothes;
  • The hotel will replace traditional lamps by energy-saving lamps.
