Main Environmental Characteristics:

  • Maintained an effective mechanism for corrective and preventive actions in handling environment complaints. For example, adjust the brightness of outdoor LED monitor appropriately in order to reduce the affection of surrounding environment.
  • Adopted the skylight design at the Grande Praça to better use of natural light and hence achieve energy saving for lighting.
  • Replaced traditional printed salary statements with electronic salary statements to reduce unnecessary paper usage.
  • Donated extra food to the local charity.
  • Implemented a "Material Management System" (MMS) to apply a First-In-First-Out principle to handle stored goods.
  • Communicated with customers on environmental issues through the LCD displays of the phones in guest rooms.

Continuous Improvement Items:

  • The hotel has installed photosensors for all exterior lighting to reduce electricity consumption;
  • The hotel will enhance ¨Smart Meter Profile〃, which can be used to analyze hotelˇs energy consumption, to facilitate management decision on energy-saving measures.
