Continuous Improvement Items:
- The hotel has donated old furniture to staff members and organizations in need for reuse.
- The hotel will provide an additional non-smoking floor, aiming to promote a non-smoking environment and also to improve the air quality of the hotel.
- The hotel is planning to replace T8 fluorescent lamps with T5 fluorescent lamps gradually to enhance energy efficiency for lightings.
Some of the environmental measures accomplished:
- Installed at least 65% energy-saving type lighting facilities.
- Installed an automatic on-off control for lighting and air condition facilities.
- Installed a waste heat recovery system to recover waste heat (e.g. for dish-washer).
- Installed flow restrictors and automatic shut off systems in swimming pool to reduce water use.
- Provided non-smoking floor.
- Provided a non-smoking area in Chinese and Western restaurants.
- Collected soap from guest rooms for cloth washing in staff laundry.
- Provided several plants throughout hotel premises (e.g. near swimming pool, lobby and office).
- Reported environmental activities in staff quarterly magazines.
- Purchased a new 24-seat van of Euro IV standards.
